Gov Zulum Acknowledges UNDP Resident Representative's Efforts at Monguno Digital Literacy Center Launch

On January 17, 2025, Borno State Governor His Excellency Professor Engr Babagana Umara Zulum, CON, MIN, FNSE, officially commissioned the Monguno Digital Literacy Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to advance digital inclusion and empower the youth of Borno State. The ceremony, held in Monguno, was graced by prominent dignitaries, including the UNDP Resident Representative to Nigeria, Ms. Elsie Attafuah, the German Ambassador to Nigeria, the Egyptian Ambassador to Nigeria, and other distinguished guests.


Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Kabir Wanori, Executive Secretary of the Borno State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (BICTDA), led the tour of the center, showcasing its modern equipment and innovative learning environments tailored to foster digital skills development. Governor Zulum commended the efforts of the Executive Secretary and his team, emphasizing the transformative role of digital literacy in a technology-driven era.


Ms. Elsie Attafuah delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging students to seize the opportunities provided by the center. Similarly, the German and Egyptian Ambassadors urged the youth to work diligently, underscoring the importance of digital competence in the rapidly evolving global landscape.


In a remarkable gesture, Governor Zulum announced scholarships for students who successfully complete their term at the center, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to their educational advancement. This announcement was met with enthusiasm from attendees, reflecting the governor's dedication to empowering the next generation.
