On March 8th, 2024, His Excellency Governor Babagana Umara Zulum CON, mni, FNSE, FNIAE established the Borno State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency, by appending his signature to the law passed by the State House of Assembly (BICTDA Law 2024) and appoint Engr. Mohammed Kabir Wanori FNSE as the pioneer Executive Secretary of the Agency.

SERVICES

Policy Development & Regulation

Develop and implement Information and Communication Technology policy, including regulation of technology usage, standardization, and research.

Infrastructure Establishment

Issuance of guidelines and frameworks for appropriate infrastructure development to support digital services application in the state.

Training & Education

Promotion of Information and Communication Technology Education and training within the State Civil Service, institutions, and schools, as well as establishment of training centers for digital skills provision.

Digital Services Promotion

Promotion of the use of information and communication technology, including the establishment of internet services for various sectors such as e-Governance, e-Commerce, Telemedicine, e-Health, e-Agriculture, e-Learning, e-Libraries, and e-Infrastructure.

Collaboration & Partnership

Collaboration with relevant government organizations, NGOs, private sectors, firms, or individuals to promote information and communication technology and identify critical areas requiring research and development intervention.

Advisory & Oversight

Advisory services to the government on promoting ICT in the state, including providing advisory and support in all information technology and digital service matters to public and private sectors.
